RAK’S GLORY AND GLOOM AT NATIONAL TRACK CHAMPS

There were lots of smiles around the RAK camp after the Australian National Track Championships last week.  Sarah Kent was celebrating more than just her 18th birthday with a Gold medal in the U19 Women’s Individual Pursuit, earning her automatic selection in the Australian Junior Track Team with a scintillating time of 2:25.91. She then backed it up with another gold medal in the Open Women’s Team Pursuit, and a Silver medal in the U19 Women’s Points Race.

RAK ON TRACK FOR NATS

A lot of nervous energy will be spent in the next few days as four of RAK's talented Track riders gear up for the Australian U 19 Track Championships, at the Dunc Gray Velodrome, Sydney from the 5th to the 10th February.  Tom Palmer, Camille Pallett, Sarah Kent and Lauren Kitchen and their respective coaches have all been putting in enormous effort into their  training schedules in preparation for the event.  These riders not only are seeking positions on the podium at the Championships, they are also seeking selection in the Australian Junior Track Team to contest the Junior World Track Championships in South Africa in July.  We wish them all the best!!< ...

2008 RAK COLORADO TRAINING CAMP- LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES

Opportunities may be available under the RAK “Sponsored Rider” program for U19 and second year U17 riders to attend the RAK Colorado Camp from 13th June to 23rd July.  These riders will contribute financially to their expenses and will only be accepted after they demonstrate their ability to endure the rigors of the training regime and display the maturity required to live in a team environment. BUSY START TO THE YEAR FOR REAL AUSSIE KIDS

While other aussie kids were relaxing and partying over Christmas and New Year, the Real Aussie Kids were hard at it on the track and road with various cycling events throughout the country.

 Seventeen year old  Lauren Kitchen was named as one of the stand out performances of the Jayco Bay Classic Criteriums when she took on her older and more experienced rivals (including World and Olympic Champions), on the second, and toughest stage, of the Women’s Elite series at Port Arlington.  Lauren defied the atrocious conditions and hilly course by riding at the front of the peleton and instigating  the winning  break, then dug deep to lead out the s ...

RAK Team Members receive their end of year School Results

Several RAK members reached a milestone in their education when they received their end of year results yesterday.  Joseph Northey, Angus Morton and Dale Scarfe received their HSC results and all three were very pleased with their individual achievements. 

Lachlan Morton, Matt Connelly, Sam Spokes, Kevin Hawes and Robert McElligott all had solid results in their School Certificate and look forward to a busy year ahead as they move into Year 11.

RAK'S 2007 FINALE AT CRONULLA CRITS

The Real Aussie Kids Junior Cycling Team ended their year in spectacular fashion at the Cronulla International Criterium on the weekend.  Dale Scarfe lit up his tyres to take out the Men’s race in a thrilling bunch sprint, a fitting way to finish his last race with the RAK Team before moving to the FRF NSWIS team next year.  Up and coming team mate Matt Connelly also showed great form with an explosive cross to a break away bunch early in the race, but was later reeled in by the peleton.
