Ambitions
My shorts to medium term goals are to perform well in all of the major tour events, local, interstate and overseas, and to represent Australia at the Junior Worlds in 2008 and ultimately, the Olympics.
My aspirations are to race with a professional team that is well-organised and can offer me the path of a cycling career.
I don't think any of this is unachievable as hard work and the right attitude will always pay off.
I also realise that a cycling career does not last a lifetime and that if possible there has to be a reasonable balance in life while competing in an elite sport. There are many aspects to an individual's life and it's up to us to make the most of any opportunity, which is why I am so intent on continuing with my studies. Since completing year 12 this year I have since invested in the help of a number of career advisors and hope to take part in an English or creative writing course at TAFE while completing my second year as an U/19 and to then to attend university the following year.
Hobbies
Two of my passions are sport and children. I have a real enthusiasm for sport generally, and could see myself working in a sport related career, such as physiotherapy; I also enjoy working closely with children and would be keen to follow a path in teaching or health care.
Current Employment
I have taken on a part time job at a local Mosman Park chemist in order to allow me to gain some work experience and life skills.
Sporting History
I Started cycling at 14 years of age having participated successfully in Soccer, Cross Country and Athletics.
During the time I have been cycling I have met new people and made many new friends. I feel I have increased my confidence and consider myself to be physically and mentally strong. I will be forever grateful for the continuing help from my parents, coach, and friends who have supported me and who always provide me with encouragement and praise.
