GRAHAM SEERS  The Real Aussie Kids Development Team has been privileged to have Olympian Graham Seers on board as team coach since the team’s conception 5 years ago. His approach to junior development and the evolution of the sport in general has played an integral role in shaping the team’s philosophy, and his guidance of the team as a whole as well as attention on an individual level has been invaluable. His success is evident not only in the tangible results achieved by the athletes he coaches (including numerous Australian titles and 2 junior world selections in two years) but perhaps more so in the well-balanced, mature psychological approach of the athletes, who have learned that equally important to racing & training is the evaluation of their efforts which enable them to continually assess their progress toward set goals.   A short biography of ‘Seersy’ Graham commenced competitive cycling at the age of 11, with significant success including over 30 NSW and National titles from 1972-1997 on both the track and road. Internationally Seersy represented Australia at the World Road Championships, the 1980 Moscow Olympics as well as racing extensively throughout Europe, Asia, New Zealand and New Caledonia.  Moved to Port Macquarie in 1987 to open a Bike Shop and formed the Port Macquarie Cycle and Triathlon Club.  In 1991 he studied at the AIS and obtained  level 2 coaching certificate, enabling him to assist athletes around the world during his career, including: 1991: National Junior Development camps AIS Canberra, 1991: UCI Coaching Instructor for the Philippines, 1994: Philippines National Coach, Track and Road, 1995: Australian Track Team, 1997: Malaysian Track Coach, 1999: Brunei Road Coach,  2000: Sydney Olympics Velodrome, Road and MTB venue management, field of play supervisor., 2004: Sold his successful bike shop business to concentrate full time on Coaching and Junior Development 2003-Present: Co-founded the Real Aussie Kids Team with businessman, David Morton and developed the highly acclaimed RAK Junior Development Program. Graham has accompanied the Team on 5 overseas Training Camps to Spain and the USA.  2006 to present:  Managed and coached several junior state teams & NSWIS Teams at National Competitions including, Bay Criterium Series, Australian Track & Road Championships, Tour of the Murray etc. 2006 to present: joined Cycling NSW & NSW Institue of Sport as  Regional Development & Coaching Co-Ordinator, where he assists Regional Academies of Sport to develop young riders and their coaches helping to grow the sport of Cycing in NSW. Seersy’s experience and approach toward cycling and his rapport with junior athletes are an asset to the RAK team and we look forward to another successful year with his training, guidance and good company!
